Watching Online TV Shows

I had not been writing much lately. It is because I had been busy with a new project. I was into TV online shows lately, not really watching them, but I just made a new blog and I tagged a friend along.

I used to watch these shows, especially the long running CSI series in my home TV. However, since I had gotten myself busy in freelancing, I dropped off watching TV free shows online in favor of social networking and work. I guess I am a pretty much a workaholic after all.

I hope you’ll enjoy this TV watch shows that I had setup. I plan to earn some revenue from these shows that I used to enjoy. The latest entry as I am writing this is Watch Live Family guy Season 8 Episode 9 Business Guy Online. Enjoy!

Work Downtime to Watch Pacquiao-Cotto Fight

One sure downtime that will put off work for the whole day is when I’d be looking for ways to get to watch Pacquiao vs Cotto live stream in any of the online sites. I’d probably choose Justin.tv to look for these live streams as I did whenever I watch Pacquiao during his previous fights. I am amazed that this guy is able to stop the entire Philippines from doing crime in the streets just to watch Pacquiao beat one guy after another in the boxing ring.

The Pacquiao Cotto fight is something that I look forward to this November 15 in my time zone. I’m pretty sure that, again, my foreign clients would understand, because they also follow Pacquiao’s fights too.

Typhoon Lupit’s Unpredictable Move

typhoon lupit

The picture says it all. I hope Typhoon Lupit (international name) or Ramil (Philippine name) does not make a U-turn back to the country – ever!

Typhoon Peping Knocked Me Out

Typhoon Pepeng knocked me off the internet on and off until the power supply was cut off in our place. The typhoon’s wind was not too strong, but it was the constant rain that was really destructive. Since I live in Baguio, one of the higher places in the Philippines – going out in the rain is not something that people would do. It was really very very cold up here and I was just content to watching the rain fall down. I was saddened to see some structures had fallen down during the strong rain. It’s another experience I could not forget.

Things are getting back to normal now, although all the roads going in and out of our city are NOT passable yet by any vehicle. Power was back two days earlier, and my landline phone and internet was just restored a few hours earlier (after I had asked PLDT, my phone and ISP about the status of my landline). I had lots of pending work to do but I made a mental note already not to accept rush freelance work and not to accept plenty of these. I intend to build my blogs for the next rainy season, since my internet connection comes in bursts.

Anyway, I’m still glad that I am alive. Like other homes up here in Baguio, I live along the slopes – so I feared that our place could just collapse like those that I had seen outside the window during the typhoon.

Major Fixes and Changes to the Lady Programmer Blog

I will be making major changes to The Lady Programmer blog. Since I am using Jaypee’s web host and one of our agreements is to host the images somewhere, I need to optimize the blog.

  • I need to remove the slideshow on the homepage. I am hosting the images somewhere, and I noticed that the slideshow doesn’t load the images fast.
  • I have to lessen the ads. Updating them each week is becoming a chore, especially if those are affiliate ads.
  • I don’t know if my web server allow me to host them, but I got to find another reliable host that lets me create my own account. I would also need to back up those images just in case.
  • My blog’s database has been bloated due to the plugins that don’t clean up their rows and tables after being disabled from the plugin panel. I need to clean up, repair then optimize that.
  • After setting up my latest blog at News Break Daily, I realized that my blog security is not too tight. I have to beef that up.
  • There are some broken links on my blog and I have to fix them.

I just hope I get that all done, even if the typhoon keeps on knocking out the electricity and even keeping me out of the internet.

Purchased My First Web Host

I just bought a new webhost at BlueHost. It’s my first webhost purchase and I was excited about that. What I did next was to install a WordPress blog and that became a current news blog.

I used to own blogs in both WordPress.com and Blogger. Eventually as I started earning online I began to like blogging and had purchased my first domain. Not long I bought three more domains. However, it was only at this time when I purchased my own web host (I am a little late than the other guys, who are now earning six-figures – I just simply prefer having balanced content than simply writing posts for SEO traffic).

Surprisingly, I still come back to WordPress.com to write a new post even if they had kicked out one of my blogs due to TOS violation (I did paid reviews and earned more than $500 before WordPress.com deleted my blog). However, don’t expect me to post as often as I do in other blogs.
